Traditional rustic black iron slide bolt with elaborate fish tail handle. These vintage bolts have old detailing and pre-drilled base plate.

Our wrought iron door bolts are all individually hand forged, and so they are similar but not identical. Each piece is hand finished and given a black beeswax coating. All our hand-forged products are carefully aged. Once installed these products will look old and authentic.

These slide bolts has been hand forged. By hand forging, we mean that the bolt has been made in the traditional way by hand on the anvil. The finished bolt will show forge marks. As these bolts are all hand made each item will be similar but not identical.

Once complete each slide bolt is dipped into natural beeswax. The beeswax seeps into the tiny holes on the surface of the wrought iron, this helps the wax to form a seal coat over the iron. This coat will protect the bolt from excessive rusting. The wax also helps to even out the colour of the iron. As we want the bolt to look old and authentic the colours over the iron will be mainly black iron but you will find areas of golden brown.

• Note: Natural beeswax is a protective layer for hand forged items. Excess beeswax can be removed with a soft cloth and a mild solvent. Maintain your hand forged item with an occasional
rub of beeswax.
